Where Yankee Fans And Their Bomber Buddies Come To Talk Baseball...

YANKEE DOODLE ANDY!

We must praise him when he pitches a gem and tonight he (Andy Pettitte) did.  Dave Robertson struck out the side in the 8th and the Exit Sandman 2013 Farewell Tour continues as Mariano is a perfect 14/14.

Yanks are now 7-1 in one run games.  To quote Steve Malzberg ” A Good Team Wins One Run Games, A Bad One Loses Them”

Has Anyone Here Seen Kelley? K-E-double L-Y Has Anyone Here Seen Kelley? Kelley from the Emerald Isle

OK, Shawn ruins the illusion due to the unorthodox spelling of his last name (extra E, first name spelled differently too), but who was that strike out specialist last night?

In as untypical a night as we’ve seen in 2013, Phly Ball Phil was hurt by his demon, but the Yankees piled on. Still, once Phil was out, there were 10 HUGE outs that needed to be recorded, with no Roberston and no Mo.

What a great outing by Shawn!

BTW,TYW YANKEE BASEBALL!!!

Shawn Kelley Trivia:  Shawn and Tino Martinez wore the same number (23) with Seattle.

SHUT OUT IN COLORADO

AP  Jorge De La Rosa pitched six scoreless innings, and the Yankees, despite a stellar start from Kuroda, lost their fifth straight game at Coors Field, dating to an interleague series in 2002. They were swept in a three-game set in 2007 in their last trip to Denver’s downtown ballpark.

Gonzalez broke a scoreless tie with two outs in the sixth when he sent a full-count pitch from Kuroda into the right field bullpen with a runner on.
