VERY PHUPHILLING

Phil Hughes may have pitched his best game of the young season as the Yanks beat the A’s 4-2.

Robbie Cano, CC Sabathia and Vernon Wells spent the night watching the Bulls eliminate the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclay Center.

Hughes, who gave up four hits and didn’t allow a man past second base, became  the first Yankees right-handed starter to throw eight shutout innings and strike  out at least nine since Mike Mussina on Sept. 14, 2004, at Kansas City. He earned his first win of  the year.
